Product Description

The Britmet Lightweight Roofing high-performance synthetic slate tile is a beautiful-looking, modern-day version of a traditional slate tile.

It has all the characteristics you can expect from a traditional slate such as authentic finish, riven edges and in the traditional slate colour. Unlike natural slate LiteSlate will not crack, break, chip or delaminate through its ground-breaking design and cutting-edge manufacturing process.

As the name suggests, LiteSlate is a very easy-to-fix synthetic slate roofing tile, making it the perfect choice for any DIY project. Also, is stress-free for any tradesman looking to fit LiteSlate for the first time, due to the visible fixing locations, pre-installed spacers and easy-to-follow lapping instructions. LiteSlate is also easy to cut, you only require a sharp fine tooth saw or a sharp blade, which means you don’t have to worry about hiring or buying any slate cutters or tools.

Britmet LiteSlate is sold in handy packs of 22 slates, which is enough to cover 1m²

How many Britmet LiteSlate per square metre?

  • 14 to 25 degrees (fully boarded or felt & battens) = 22 per m²
  • 25 to 27.5 degrees (fully boarded or felt & battens) = 20 per m²
  • 27.5 to 30 degrees (fully boarded or felt & battens) = 19 per m²
  • above 30 degrees (fully boarded or felt & battens) = 18 per m²

Simply, calculate the square meterage of your roof by multiplying the length by the width in metres (L x W = M2), then multiply that square meterage using the guide above.

For example: if you have a 5 metre x 3 metre roof with a 24-degree pitch, then the equation would be 5 x 3 = 15, then 15 x 22 slates = 15 packs*.

*DISCLAIMER: This is just an estimated guide based on exact coverages advised by the manufacturer, and does not allow for wastage or cuts. The roofing industry standard for this is to allow an additional 5% to 10%, depending on the roof’s complexity and the skill/experience of the person installing the product, therefore, the final decision on quantity is the responsibility of our customer or the person installing the product.

Delivery Costs: All delivery costs are given in the basket and during checkout after a delivery postcode is entered, this is because delivery costs are dependent on the products that you’re looking to purchase and where they need to be delivered to. Delivery costs are based on delivery to a single address within the UK Mainland, excluding the Scottish Highlands and Islands where additional costs may apply.

Delivery Times: An estimated delivery time or window will be given on the majority of product pages.

Delivery Updates: We will provide delivery updates to the contact information that you provide during checkout, many of these updates are automated so please ensure that the information provided is entered correctly, and be sure to check your junk/spam folder periodically. The level of delivery service and tracking that’s available is dependent on the products that are ordered, but please rest assured that we will always provide the best available level of service and updates.

During Delivery: All delivery costs are based on the customer being able to accept the goods, and on heavier items, this means having the ability and willingness to manually offload the goods, or have mechanical offloading facilities on site.

Delivery Access: Please let us know of any potential delivery or access issues as soon as possible, ideally by using the order notes section during checkout, we will then work with our delivery partners to ensure that an appropriate delivery service is planned (if available). Bulky and palletised items in particular will be delivered on a large vehicle, usually an 18t rigid lorry and if delivery fails due to us not being made aware of access issues or nobody being at the address to accept the delivery, then additional costs may apply.

As soon as the order has been delivered as instructed, the goods become your property and the liability for product care, damage or loss passes to you.

Delivery Issues: If you experience an issue with your delivery, please get in touch and a member of our friendly team will be happy to help.
