Product Description

Novia 500 VCL is a low-cost, blown polythene material, suitable for use as a vapour control layer within the walls of timber frame constructions, or where control of the passage of water vapour is required.

This product also performs the additional function of an air-leakage barrier, to prevent losses due to unwanted convection flows. We advise the use of Novia double sided butyl and metallised BOPP tape to ensure a complete barrier integrity throughout the entire life of the product. For difficult areas to seal with tapes, or for additional support in certain applications, Novia AirSeal 310 is available. Novia 500 VCL should be used in combination with Novia breather membranes to provide an air-tight and vapour resistant system.

  • Novia 500 VCL is fully CPR compliant and is UKCA Approved to EN 13984.
  • Novia 500 VCL is available on NBS Chorus and NBS Source software packages. Full information can be found for NBS specification with the table below. The links will open a pop up window with full specification information.

Novia® 500 is a traditional specification, single-ply, non-laminated, virgin grade blown polythene material. It is designed for use as an air leakage barrier and vapour control layer (AVCL) in insulated wall, roof and floor applications. Novia® 500 is
particularly suitable for use in residential timber frame applications as it is 2.7m wide. Novia® 500 must be installed in conjunction with our two-tape sealing system to provide a fully airtight seal.

After Ordering: We will provide you with more accurate delivery updates after we have processed your order, the information provided will depend on the delivery service that’s available for the products you order and will be sent to the email address you enter during checkout. We may provide a planned delivery date, tracking information or simply further instructions if updates are to come directly from a supplier or delivery partner.

Before Delivery: Deliveries are made on commercial vehicles up to 18-tonne rigid lorries, so please let us know about access restrictions, safe places and further instructions ASAP, as failed deliveries may incur additional costs, especially for bulky or palletised deliveries.

During Delivery: Small items will be delivered to your door via courier, however, bulkier items, will require a specialist or palletised services. Palletised deliveries will be made on a lorry equipped with a tail-lift and pallet truck, so the driver will unload your order and place it at the nearest road access point to the delivery address (kerbside delivery).
