Novia Black+ FC125 Floor Cassette Membrane – 1m x 50m

Novia® Black+ FC125 is a high quality, strong and versatile floor cassette membrane for use in timber frame wall applications. Novia® Black+ FC125 is a 3-layer membrane with a microporous core. It has excellent Class W1 water resistance and is airtight, yet remaining vapour permeable with high breathability. Novia® Black+ FC125 reduces the risks of interstitial condensation around connections to wall panel detail. It is used to maintain airtightness at floor junctions, installed around the floor cassette and connected to the internal air and vapour control layer (AVCL). Novia® Black+ FC125 is completely black on one side, grey on the reverse, with no text or images, except for a 150mm overlap line.

Installation Tapes:

Novia offers a range of installation tapes to join the cassette membrane to the vapour control layer above and below the floor junction. The use of tapes will result in the correct seal being formed as required for the AVCL to perform correctly. To connect Novia® Black+ FC125 to an internal AVCL we offer Novia® Double Sided Butyl Tape for use when connecting the floor cassette membrane to the AVCL and Novia® Breather Membrame Lap Tape (BMLT) for use along the overlap.

Other Notes:

• Ensure that a Novia Air & Vapour Control Layer, such as Novia® 500g, 1000g or 1200g (virgin grade polythene AVCLs) or Novia® VC200 Reflective, is installed on the warm side of the insulation to limit unwanted interstitial condensation. As little as 1% – 3% moisture contamination within the insulation can adversely affect the achieved thermal performance by more than 30%.
• Ensure that sufficient ventilation is incorporated to comply with all relevant building regulations.
• Always handle material carefully to prevent tears and punctures. Repair any on-site damage with Novia tapes.
• All Novia products should be stored horizontally, indoors and out of direct sunlight. External storage must be on a temporary basis. When stored externally, Novia products should be protected from exposure to weather conditions, especially wind, rain, frost, and UV. Pallets should not be stacked.
